Many superpowers
exist in this world,
yet they lack
the power to give.
And those who do possess it,
lack the will
to light a lamp
in another’s hut,
drowned in darkness,
and draw sparkling lines
through dry grass and weeds.

Do they see
a drop of water
as the ocean,
or recognize
the ocean
as the giver of water?

Do they know
the significance of
each drop of water,
every grain of food,
and the art of valuing them?

Or all this is
beyond their grasp?
