The Music — Abnish Singh Chauhan
Spring played its flute
sitting at the top of a mountain
by the river Ganga.1
The sun came out
from its home
to listen the music
and in joy unbound
kissed the dancing flowers
and the clapping leaves.
The breeze opened its veil
and gave a polite gesture
as if to welcome
all the participants
with its humming lips.
Many lovers that day
heard their soft, sweet song
at a ghat2 of Rishikesh,3
taking dips in the smiling river.
Does Spring communicate
only to those
who know how to receive
and perceive it?
