What do they get
when they hurl
bricks and stones,
block the roads,
spread hatred,
fear, and terror?

What do they get
when they burn houses,
shops, markets, schools
and other hard-earned belongings—
all reduced to smoke,
vanishing into nothing?

What do they get
when the living bodies
in a single, deafening blast,
torn apart
into fragments—
so much so that
even a mother,
though she tries,
cannot recognize her children?
