Abnish Singh Chauhan: A Multifaceted Literary and Academic Profile

Abnish Singh Chauhan/ अवनीश सिंह चौहान (b. 1979), MA, M.Phil, Ph.D, D.Litt (h.c.), is Professor and Director of School of Media and Communication Studies and School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Director of Centre of Excellence - Indian Knowledge System, and Centre Superintendent of University Examinations at D. Y. Patil International University (DYPIU), Akurdi, Pune.

Dr Chauhan, a bilingual poet, short-story writer, critic, translator, and editor, has authored and edited 15 books, including three collections of poetry and a volume on poetry translation. He has also contributed more than 100 articles, book reviews, and research papers to prominent journals, magazines, and newspapers in Hindi and English. He has served as editor or sub-editor of more than half a dozen print and online magazines and journals and has also worked as the literary editor of a daily newspaper of print media.

Dr Chauhan was invited as an author and speaker to the Ahmedabad International Literature Festival in 2016 and served as a judge and speaker at the Young Poets Competition during Rendezvous 2017 at IIT Delhi. His Hindi and English lyrics have appeared in more than two dozen edited anthologies, including "Samkaleen Navgeet Sanchayan" — Part 1, published by Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi. He has received several prestigious awards for his literary and academic contributions at national and international levels.
